Staff Electrical Engineer - Substation (Southwest Region)

Duties

  • Leading and supervising preparation of engineering deliverables for electric substation projects such as: Electrical one-line drawings, protection system architecture, electrical network system architecture, detailed physical layouts, construction drawings and programming
  • Equipment and material selection and specification and preparation of cost estimates and bills of material
  • Control building design including AC and DC panels, batteries and charger
  • Bid and construction contract documents
  • Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) upgrades and additions
  • Switchgear, bus work, recloser, and circuit breaker control and operation
  • CT sizing and selection
  • Relay panel design & wiring
  • Advanced comprehension of protective relay applications (SEL, GE, Basler, ABB)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited program and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Master Degree in Electrical Engineering and 2 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical or related Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program and successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam and 3 years of electrical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
