- Ensure PCBA designs meet safety, reliability, and compliance standards for high-power and hazardous systems
- Create requirements, DFMEA/CFMEA, electrical block diagrams, simulations, analysis, schematics, layouts, bring-up/test plans, and 8 Discipline (8D) reports
- Work cross functionally with System Engineering, Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical, Firmware/Software, & Test/Verification teams to define, design, & test PCBAs and resolve Electrical System related issues
- Support troubleshooting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of released PCBA designs
- Document Design Concepts, Architecture, Block Diagrams, Bring-Up/Test Results, Root Cause Investigations, and Decision Matrices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience (battery or energy storage systems experience is a plus); OR Master's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency in PCBA design ECAD SW Altium or equivalent
- Hands-on experience with sensors, power electronics (high voltage, high power, AC, SMPS, LDO), processing (MCU, MPU, SOM), networking (Ethernet, CAN-FD, isoSPI), on board communication (SPI, UART, I2C, JTAG), data acquisition (IO, ADC, DAC), and control systems (gate drivers, motor drivers, HSD)
- Strong understanding of safety and compliance considerations in high-power and/or chemical environments
- Demonstrated experience designing PCBAs and Electrical Systems to UL 991, 1973, 9540, 1998 requirements
