This position is located in Roy, UT, supporting the Sentinel program. The chosen candidate will join the Sentinel Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) Business Unit’s System Integration & Sustainment (SIS) Operating Unit and contribute to the Weapon System Integration (WSI) Electrical Design Integration (EDI) Team. This role will support as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Weapon System Electrical Design Integration Team, responsible for integrating all segment and lower-level team designs to ensure fundamental electrical engineering principles are applied consistently throughout the design lifecycle.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement modeling solutions, conduct trade studies, and evaluate system and subsystem performance.
- Collaborate with technical leadership on system requirements generation, flow down, subsystem design/analysis, and subsystem performance verification, including lab and flight testing.
- Assist with planning, coordination, and analysis supporting system and subsystem development, integration, test, production, and flight test operations.
- Attend internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and formal program milestone reviews to provide and obtain progress status updates.
- Perform the test design process, including the design, analysis, and fabrication of specialty test equipment required for environmental testing and handling.
- Collaborate with other IPTs to define test objectives and requirements for test activities in system integration labs.
- Perform analyses to evaluate all levels of the system to ensure a cohesive electrical-system solution throughout the development lifecycle (concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal).
- Manage internal and external electrical interfaces (such as data, power, RF) and develop corresponding system-level interconnect/block diagrams, grounding diagrams, electrical schematics, and global connectivity lists for the weapon system.
- Manage hardware command and telemetry implementation (e.g., develop and coordinate calibration and conversion curves for analog telemetry, verify electrical/software implementation).
- Verify electrical connectivity implementation (e.g., verify electrical harness implementation, safety-critical circuit segregation, support peer-reviews).
- Develop and evaluate electrical system architecture alternatives in concert with broader systems engineering efforts to select an architecture that meets customer needs.
- Drive open design to completion and solve design issues (e.g., propose solutions, support mass reduction initiatives).
- Perform electrically focused requirement analysis and decomposition as part of translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
- Review suppliers' "as-planned," "as-designed," and "as-built" documentation (e.g., interface control documents, derating analysis, worst-case analysis, qualification test plans, acceptance test plans, test reports).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or an equivalent STEM-related discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) from an accredited university with 12 years of relevant experience; Master’s Degree with 10 years of experience; PhD with 8 years of experience.
- U.S. Citizenship with an active Secret clearance or higher (awarded within the past 6 years) and the ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) certification.
- Minimum 8+ years of working experience on ICBMs or other ground-to-air-based systems.
- 8+ years of electrical engineering experience in at least three of the following fields: electrical architecture, design, interface definition (internal and/or external), development and test of mixed signal circuits, power distribution, or avionics system integration for aerospace or defense.
- Extensive Electrical Engineering background with an understanding of analog and digital electronics, power systems, Command and Data Handling, Signal Integrity, and Grounding schema.
- 7+ years of technical experience in systems engineering and/or integration execution.
- Strong electrical engineering design and analysis skills in the application of test hardware design along with implementation of the design review process (DRR, PDR & CDR).
- Working experience utilizing Siemens Xpedition, Altium Designer, or a similar development suite for Schematic Capture, CCA Layout, and DRC.
- Working experience utilizing Siemens Capital.
- Ability to determine unit-under-test test requirements and translate those into a test and repair operational environment.
- Experience in model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Experience with Spice, MathCAD, MATLAB, or other simulation tool suites.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; strong interpersonal and analytic skills; works well in a team environment within all levels of the test integrated team structure.
- Experience with creating and executing to schedule and technical recovery plans.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior leadership experience in IPT or SEIT Lead roles or equivalent.
- Prior experience performing EMI/EMC design work on fixed ground installations.
- Prior experience in E3-related areas such as ESD, HERO, TEMPEST.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, test, shielding techniques, thermal management for electronic systems, component-to-ground/air-based electrical system grounding schema, isolation, ground loops, and characterization, and power quality.
- Past/Active employment with MMIII or Sentinel Weapon Systems with substantial execution toward electrical engineering technical products.
- Full life cycle experience developing, integrating, and deploying maritime RF systems.
- Ability to monitor hardware and software design teams with critical insight to identify when teams are off track and help steer them toward successful implementation.
- Experience with high-power and high-frequency systems, including power electronics, RF telemetry, and secure communications.
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC design, shielding techniques, and thermal management for electronic systems.
- Familiarity with hardware qualification processes, including environmental testing, vibration, and shock testing.
- Hands-on experience with system integration, troubleshooting, and flight test support.
- Experience in hypersonic vehicle, missile, or high-speed aircraft programs.
- Knowledge of radiation-hardened electronics and fault-tolerant design for extreme conditions.
- Experience contributing to various phases of a program lifecycle.
- Familiarity with DoD acquisition processes, milestone reviews, and government contracting.
- Experience maintaining and reporting the status of program activities.
- Strong work ethic and initiative to perform in a cross-functional team.

Schedule
This position follows a 9/80 work schedule, allowing employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.
Pay
Primary salary range: $152,900.00 - $229,300.00. The final offer considers the scope and responsibilities of the position, as well as the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may also be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions and allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
