About the role
The Staff Development Instructor at BMH Bronson Methodist Hospital serves as a learning facilitator, change agent, mentor, leader, champion for scientific inquiry, advocate for the professional development specialty, and partner for practice transitions. This role requires collaboration with all members of the healthcare team and delivery of education in operating rooms.
Responsibilities
- Bridge knowledge, skills, and practice gaps through needs assessment.
- Transform processes at various levels through change management and improvement processes.
- Mentor and support the professional development of others.
- Influence interprofessional practice and learning environments, the NPD specialty, and healthcare.
- Promote the generation and dissemination of new knowledge and evidence-based practices.
- Support the transition of nurses and healthcare team members across different environments, roles, and professional stages.
- Serve as an expert resource on ECC issues and protocols.
- Train and educate instructors in Life Support programs.
- Oversight and improvement of Life Support programs and deployment of new equipment.
- Achieve regulatory compliance and update standards as necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (BS) or Master of Science (MS) in Nursing with a focus in areas of specialty.
- Minimum of five years of clinical experience with a focus in areas of specialty.
- Experience in teaching and certification is highly desirable.
- Licensed in the area of specialty in good standing with the State of Michigan.
- Valid driver’s license for roles requiring system coverage.
- BLS required within orientation period; BLS Instructor status required within one year of hire.
- Advanced life support Instructor status determined by department needs.
