About the Role

The Nurse Educator is responsible for orienting and educating nursing staff to ensure safe, effective care aligned with federal, state, and facility guidelines. They develop and deliver education programs based on staff needs, supervise new employees during orientation, conduct annual competency assessments, and oversee the Employee Health Program, including tracking vaccinations and immunizations.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and teach staff education programs
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing personnel
  • Perform competency testing and staff performance appraisals
  • Manage Employee Health Program activities

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an active RN license
  • At least three years of clinical experience
  • Two years of experience in long-term care nursing
  • One year of experience in education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical excellence and gerontology experience
  • Training in adult learning
