About the role
Passionate people are everywhere at Google. In Developer Relations, we get excited to collaborate and connect with the communities that love technology as much as we do. Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Relations Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers' interests internally at Google.
Responsibilities
- Learn more about benefits at Google.
- Ideate, form, and run experiments based on market or developer trends, synthesizing and sharing findings with the broader team.
- Act as a community liaison to emerging groups to establish relationships and understand developer signals.
- Interact with Google Cloud and other executives to understand market roadmaps and trends.
- Work both as an individual and with the team on work and can shift between leading and contributing on key projects.
- Take initiative focused on personal and scaled growth, looking for ways to continuously improve personal knowledge and productivity.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of work experience in a technical role (e.g., software engineering, solutions consultant, etc.) or equivalent technical experience.
- 3 years of experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Machine Learning, and related frameworks.
- Experience with cloud platforms and technologies.
Qualifications
- Experience as a software developer, consultant, educator, community manager, product manager, CTO, or consultant.
- Experience in developing or delivering software, including coding experience in one or more of the following languages like Java, Python, C#, Go, JavaScript, Ruby, PHP.
- Experience communicating at technology conferences, blogging/writing technical articles with an existing follower base, or contributing to a popular open source project.
- Proven track record of setting technical strategy for large teams and large projects.

Pay & Schedule
- US: $192000 - $279000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
- Canada: $204000 - $210000 (CAD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits.
