Responsibilities
- Provides comprehensive dental care, including diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up, with necessary referrals.
- Maintains effective working relationships with patients and staff, promoting a positive atmosphere.
- Records and maintains accurate, clear, and complete documentation in patient clinical records, including dental charting, medical history, and patient vitals (blood pressure, height, weight, etc.).
- Ensures timely completion of chart notes, charges, and billing.
- Meets productivity and quality improvement goals.
- Works with the Dental Center Coordinator and Chief Dental Officer to schedule patients properly and timely.
- Assists in supervising dental support personnel, including dental hygienists, dental therapists, and dental students.
- Maintains a safe and disinfected working environment by complying with infection control policies and protocols, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Participates in GLBHC Quality Assurance activities, on-call duties, and provider meetings as required.
- Communicates with parents and guardians as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Dental Officer.
Requirements
- Graduated from a U.S. accredited dental school.
- Licensed to practice dentistry in the State of Michigan.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and efficient with typing and computer skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a diverse population.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexible in day-to-day duties, responsibilities, and schedule.
- Ability to sit, stand, or walk for an entire workday.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, or twist up to 25 lbs. frequently.
Schedule
Full-time position with flexible and varied hours. Extended hours may be required. Consistent attendance is mandatory. Telecommuting is not an option.
Travel
Travel may be required to various GLBHC sites, with reimbursement consistent with GLBHC’s policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
