About the role
Headway’s mission is to build a new mental healthcare system accessible to everyone. We focus on solving the biggest barrier to care: insurance. Our software automates the administrative work of credentialing, claims, and payment reconciliation, allowing over 75,000 providers to serve over 1 million patients. We are now expanding our efforts to reimagine the entire experience of finding a therapist and to ensure our platform is scalable and compliant.
Responsibilities
- Drive insights and decisions through strategic analysis, reporting, and predictive modeling.
- Design a metrics framework connecting our revenue infrastructure to financial outcomes, identifying gaps in data and reporting.
- Define and drive the measurement strategy for collections loss, setting targets for improvement and translating insights into cross-functional initiatives.
- Build forecasts to inform staffing decisions and estimate progress towards goals.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure our revenue systems provide the necessary auditability and data traceability for GAAP compliance and audit readiness.
- Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for executive stakeholders.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data science or analytics roles.
- Working knowledge of core finance and accounting concepts.
- Experience with healthcare Revenue Cycle Management (RCM).
- Proven success partnering cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Product, Engineering, and Operations teams.
- Proficiency in forecasting and predictive modeling techniques.
- Experience with data modeling, ideally using dbt.
- Hands-on technical fluency in SQL and Python or R.
- Experience adopting and championing AI-assisted tools to accelerate and automate data workflows.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Finance, or related field.
- Experience with healthcare industry data and analytics.
- Knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
- Experience with healthcare billing and coding.

Pay
The expected base pay range for this position is $212,000 - $265,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
