Data Engineering
Headway is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to help execute our mission. The Data Engineering Team is responsible for delivering reliable, high-quality data assets at enterprise scale. They transform raw data into business-ready intelligence through robust ETL/ELT pipelines, advanced data modeling, and rigorous data quality frameworks.
- Define the technical roadmap for the entire data platform
- Work horizontally to influence architectural decisions and technical debt management across multiple engineering teams
- Architect and ship progressively more complex, large-scale data products
- Establish organization-wide data standards
- Drive the design of highly scalable and optimized data models
- Lead complex, multi-functional initiatives
- Focus on data quality governance
What You'll Love About This Role
- 9+ years of experience in data engineering
- Expert-level proficiency in modern data stack (Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, Python)
- Mastery of advanced data modeling techniques
- Proven ability to define the technical roadmap for the entire data platform
- Strong track record of mentoring, coaching, and elevating the technical skills of other data engineers
- Prior experience in the marketplace or two-sided platform (a significant plus)
Compensation & Benefits
The expected base pay range for this position is $212,000 - $265,000, based on a variety of factors including qualifications, experience, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for an equity grant, depending on the position and level.
