About the role
Northrop Grumman's Engineering and Sciences (E&S) Baltimore and Partnered Sites (BaPs) Division seeks a Staff CORE Systems Engineer to join their team. This position requires 100% on-site work.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership to programs transforming concepts into fielded systems, driving cross-discipline integration and balancing innovative and traditional implementations of systems thinking.
- Lead major development efforts for sensors on current and next-generation air and sea platforms for various programs.
- Lead the application and continuous improvement of systems engineering processes to develop solutions that meet and anticipate customer requirements.
- Own requirements management, including decomposition, allocation, verification, and validation, ensuring traceability across the system lifecycle.
- Lead the preparation, execution, and closure of major system design reviews (e.g., PDR, CDR, SVR, TRR, PCAs, FCAs), including technical issue resolution and risk retirement.
- Provide technical direction to cross-functional product teams across multiple disciplines and domains to drive design compliance and integration.
- Serve as the technical authority to ensure system compliance with the program Statement of Work (SOW) and system requirements, identifying and resolving gaps and risks proactively.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 12 years of experience, a Master's degree with 10 years of experience, or a PhD with 8 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related technical fields; additional 4 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- A current/active U.S Government Secret Clearance.
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
- Experience in systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industries.
- Experience with system engineering design methods, including requirements analysis and flow-down, specification derivation, functional decomposition, and interface control documentation.
- Experience participating in major systems reviews, including SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR, etc.
- Experience working through the systems engineering process.
- Proficient with systems engineering tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, MATLAB, or comparable software.
Qualifications
- Advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineer, or Mathematics or other related technical fields preferred.
- Active U.S Government Top Secret Clearance or higher with SAP Access and/or SCI eligibility.
- Architecture, CONOPS, and use case development using model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies preferred.
- Experience effectively communicating and presenting complex technical concepts to project, program, and company management, other technical managers, and customers.
- Experience supporting an agile development team.

$169,000.00 - $253,600.00
