About the role
Northrop Grumman is seeking a Staff Communications Engineer - Antenna Co-site to join our team in Melbourne, FL. This role involves working on key efforts to develop novel and innovative solutions to advanced technical problems, supporting the development and integration of communications subsystems, and collaborating with key suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Support development and integration of communications subsystems and components to meet platform mission objectives
- Develop and manage requirements and interfaces
- Conduct performance and functional analyses
- Conduct detailed trade studies
- Manage supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
- Perform aircraft ground and flight tests on subsystems to validate and verify requirements
- Engage with customers and management, external personnel, and various sub-teams
- Assist in identifying and planning informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements
- Provide technical support during discussions with the customer
- Ensure adherence to high levels of technical rigor
Requirements
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) from an accredited university AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering; OR a Ph.D. in a STEM discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
- Active US Government Secret Clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation).
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Qualifications
- Good leadership skills and understanding of the scope of the work and its impact on other teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to work well in a close team environment
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability and data analysis experience
- Experience engaging directly with internal and external technical and programmatic representatives
- Experience in model-based systems engineering using Cameo or similar SysML tools
- Experience in performance analysis using MATLAB and Excel or similar tools
- Familiarity with Atlassian collaboration tool set (Jira and Confluence)
- Experience in supplier/subcontract management
- Experience in developing supplier documentation, performance-based specifications, and statements of work
- Experience in building supplier evaluation criteria and conducting technical evaluations, documenting results and selection
- Ability to review documents from the supplier’s development effort and support supplier technical interchange meetings and design reviews
Skills

Pay
The annual salary range for this position is $152,900.00 - $229,300.00, depending on the position and qualifications.
