Staff Cloud Engineer

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Cloud Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will help shape the technical foundation for modern developer experiences, with a focus on cloud platforms, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation. You will work closely with engineering partners to improve delivery speed, reliability, and security across the software development lifecycle. The position also offers the opportunity to influence platform direction, mentor teammates, and contribute to AI-enabled tools that support engineering productivity.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $118,450 – $236,900 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of CI/CD systems and developer portals
• Drive technical decision-making for features to align with architectural goals
• Act as a technical lead on complex initiatives, breaking down tasks for the team
• Participate in on-call rotations to support the reliability of platform services
• Contribute to AI-powered tools that enhance developer workflows and the SDLC
• Influence the team's technical direction through code contributions and reviews
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members on platform development best practices

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on CI/CD systems and developer tools
• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) implementations, particularly with Terraform
• Strong experience with containerization technologies, including Docker, and orchestration using Kubernetes
• In-depth knowledge of CI/CD principles and development tools such as GitHub Actions and ArgoCD
• Proficiency in scripting such as Bash and Python, and programming languages such as Go and Java
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Understanding of DevSecOps and the integration of security tools into CI/CD processes
