The Staff Civil Engineer, Sportworks provides technical leadership for planning, evaluation, design, and implementation of civil engineering projects focused on sports facilities and site development. As part of Sportworks Design, a dedicated team of land surveyors, civil and sports engineers, and landscape architects, this role contributes to the design of athletic facilities, synthetic turf fields, campus site plans, and other sports-related projects utilizing innovative engineering technology and industry standards. The position regularly collaborates with internal teams and clients, occasionally interacts with public agencies and government entities, and manages assigned co-ops and interns. The Staff Civil Engineer serves as a professional representative of the company while demonstrating intermediate proficiency with engineering software and civil design practices. Other Responsibilities Include: Provide engineering guidance to project stakeholders and management regarding project requirements, design considerations, and construction modificationsPrepare and communicate designs using CAD and related engineering software toolsDevelop design specifications through engineering analysis, including water flow calculations, traffic demand studies, and earthwork balancingPlan projects utilizing surveys, maps, aerial photography, blueprints, and geologic and topographical dataPrepare technical reports, including detention reports and engineering due diligence reportsPerform construction cost estimating for materials, equipment, and labor requirementsCollaborate with architects, contractors, engineers, and surveyors to ensure successful project executionEstablish and verify project grades, elevations, installation points, and other construction-related criteriaMonitor project progress to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standardsMentor team members and share company methodologies, best practices, and technical knowledgePerform fundamental site design, including stormwater detention designParticipate in professional organizations, industry events, and networking opportunitiesPerform other related duties as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field requiredMinimum of 2 consecutive years of civil engineering experience requiredExperience with site development and sports facility design projects is a plusPublic speaking and presentation skills preferredAbility to manage basic design projects from concept through completion as the primary designerWorking knowledge of state and local regulationsIntermediate understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and design methodologiesProficiency with CAD and other engineering design, data analysis, and drafting softwareBasic knowledge of construction methods, materials, and site infrastructure improvementsStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication abilitiesAbility to balance creativity with technical engineering requirementsHighly detail-oriented with exceptional accuracy and organizationS. work authorization required About The Kleingers Group The Kleingers Group provides design solutions for a wide range of public, private, institutional, and corporate clients.
