Staff CIAM Security Engineer

For our client, a leader in the Finance & Insurance space, we are seeking a Staff CIAM Security Engineer to lead technical work focused on cloud-enabled scalability, reliability, and delivery excellence. You will collaborate across engineering, product, operations, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into practical technology solutions, influencing architecture and execution quality in a regulated financial services environment.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate core CIAM backend services for customer account management
• Implement identity standards ensuring correctness and clean integration
• Develop backend APIs exposing identity capabilities to various applications
• Integrate CIAM platforms with internal systems, including user data stores and messaging
• Automate CIAM infrastructure using CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code
• Monitor and optimize CIAM services for performance and resilience
• Own secure authentication flows, including MFA and consent mechanisms

Qualifications

• 7+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale with Python or Kotlin
• Extensive track record in high availability distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, Spark, and Kubernetes
• Experience delivering major features and writing clear, maintainable code
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration across teams
• Deep knowledge of CIAM systems and identity standards such as OAuth 2.0 and SAML

Pay

$181,000 – $241,000 annually
