About the role
The Chaplain Associate at Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center provides expert spiritual care, crisis intervention, and support to patients, their support community, and hospital team members. This role operates under the direction of the Director of Spiritual Care and Chaplaincy.
Responsibilities
- Assess spiritual needs and provide expert spiritual care
- Offer emotional and spiritual support from an interfaith perspective
- Communicate effectively during crises with strong interpersonal skills
- Provide on-call services as needed
Requirements
- Completion of a Master of Divinity degree or its equivalent from an accredited Theological School
- A minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE)
- Proficiency in spiritual care, generally attained through a minimum of two units of CPE program offered by ACPE, NACC, or NJC
- Basic computer skills required
Qualifications
- Minimum of two units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) is required
- Four units of CPE preferred

- Interpersonal skills for effective communication during crises
- Ability to offer spiritual care from an interfaith perspective
- Proficiency in spiritual care, generally attained through a minimum of two units of CPE program offered by ACPE, NACC, or NJC

Pay
Minimum 24.32/hour - Maximum 40.16/hour. Compensation will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
Schedule
Part-time, rotating shift - This position requires working as needed, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
