As a Staff Backend Engineer, you will lead the technical architecture of Giga's real-time AI platform. This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you'll solve complex distributed systems problems, scale infrastructure to millions of requests, and set engineering standards. You'll drive high-stakes initiatives that define the future of enterprise automation and voice superintelligence.

What You Will Do

• Arcitect and evolve the core agent infrastructure, making critical tradeoffs between speed, reliability, and complexity as the platform scales.
• Lead the most ambiguous and highest-stakes technical projects, turning vague requirements into robust, production-ready backend systems.
• Mentor the engineering team through hands-on collaboration, code reviews, and the development of high-standard design documentation and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate

• Bridges 7+ years of backend experience with a track record of architecting distributed systems that scale through multiple orders of magnitude.
• Possesses deep expertise in Python (Django/FastAPI) and TypeScript (Node.js), with a strong grasp of AWS, Kubernetes, and Postgres infrastructure.
• Thrives in high-pace startup environments, demonstrating the ability to own technical strategy and solve hard problems with minimal guidance.
