Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of custom automated and semi-automated machinery, assembly fixtures, and robotic work cells using SolidWorks or Creo.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, panel layouts, and networking designs, including PLC I/O mapping, motor controls, and safety systems.
- Program, debug, and optimize PLC logic, intuitive HMI interfaces for machine control (Omron Sysmac Studio).
- Integrate electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic components into cohesive manufacturing systems.
- Manage projects from concept through installation, startup, and validation, ensuring compliance with cost, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
- Conduct root cause analysis on automated equipment issues, performing FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) and SAT (Site Acceptance Testing).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in custom automation design, including both electrical and mechanical systems.
- Proficiency in CAD design (SolidWorks/Creo), PLC programming (Ladder Logic, Structured Text), electrical design, and HMI development.
- Preferred experience with CNC machining, setup and troubleshooting, along with hands-on proficiency in manual machine shop tools (mills, lathes, grinders) and a strong understanding of fundamental machining concepts (speeds/feeds, tool selection, etc.).
- Experience working in regulated environments such as ISO 13485/GMP, or similar industries (e.g., aerospace, automotive).
- Experience in change management and technical documentation is preferred.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally about 25% - 50%.

Benefits
Compensation: Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $145,300 - $190,000 (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
