Staff Automation Engineer, Manufacturing Engineering

What You'll Do

• Program and debug structured text and ladder logic code on multiple PLC controller platforms (Siemens TIA Portal and Omron Sysmac Studio)
• Create intuitive operator touchscreen interfaces using Siemens WinCC / Proface / Weintek EasyBuilder and SCADA dashboards screens using Ignition
• Create robust programs and sequences to control complex, multi-station machinery to perform processes such as material pick and place, dispense, roll to roll, welding, testing and material transport
• Set up and tune servo drives and VFDs for fast and smooth operation
• Participate in initial equipment conceptual development and carefully balance product specifications, process requirements, layout complexity, cost, and lead-time limits
• Design and implement control reliable safety systems for safeguarding robots, gantries, conveyors, and other high-volume manufacturing equipment as per codes and standards
• Manage electrical cabinet builds, field wiring, pneumatic and fluid plumbing
• Manage suppliers during specification, design, buyoff and installation of automated manufacturing equipment
• Develop & maintain proper documentation of all electrical equipment and associated procedures, making updates as required

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, Computer Science or 5+ years’ experience in Control Systems Design and PLC, or equivalent experience
• Implementation (Siemens, Omron preferred) or equivalent
• Human Machine Interface (HMI / GUI – Proface, WinCC, Ignition) Proficiency
• Creating detailed electrical and fluid schematics in CAD (EPLAN preferred)
• Structured Text (IEC 61131-3) programming skill
