Staff Attorney - Long-Term Care
Job Description
Legal Aid Chicago is seeking a staff attorney in the Long-Term Care Practice Group. Responsibilities include providing full and effective legal representation to individuals, co-counseling with other attorneys and paralegals, maintaining knowledge of long-term care facility laws, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, conducting outreach, and representing clients in court and administrative hearings.
Salary And Benefits
This position is part of the National Organization of Legal Services Workers, UAW Local 2320. The salary range for this position is $70,822-$77,872, based on 0-10 years of paid, credited experience. Legal Aid Chicago offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, time off, paid parental leave, a 403(b) retirement plan, and internet reimbursement. The position is subject to the Collective Bargaining Agreement and the federal public service loan forgiveness program.
Requirements
Legal Aid Chicago encourages applications from individuals with relevant experience, particularly those who have direct experience with communities they serve or perspectives that help them understand and serve their clients better. Applicants must have a J.D. degree and be a member of the Illinois Bar or expect to be sworn in to the Illinois Bar. Strong research, writing, and litigation skills, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with long-term care issues and/or public benefits are preferred.
