About the role
The employee in this position performs administrative work for the Bureau of Child Care Food Programs, Finance and Information Management Section. The work requires a high degree of initiative, independence, judgment, accuracy and understanding of administration.
Responsibilities
- Completes a certification twice a year stating that all time worked has been on the Child Care Food Program.
- Complies with and monitors compliance (when applicable) of the mandatory requirements in Section 215.422, FS and Chapter 69 I - 40, FAC.
- Provides general administrative support to the Finance and Information Management Staff and Bureau Staff.
- Answers the telephone, maintains minutes for section meetings, types, composes emails, files, processes travel authorizations and reimbursement vouchers for staff, assists with time sheets, prepares and completes supply requisitions, maintains current inventory of all forms and supplies for the use of all staff.
- Serves as backup to the Administrative Assistant II PSN081020. Assists with statewide mail outs, makes copies, inputs MFMP purchase requisitions, P-Card Purchases, updates phone list, maintains COOP list.
- Processes Debt Collections and Restitution payments received by the Bureau and submits to the PSN 640001565 Government Operations Consultant II for Processing. Submits the Monthly Participation Reports to The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.
- Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements
- Knowledge of administrative principles and practices.

- Knowledge of principles and techniques of effective communication.
- Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing or report writing.
- Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports.
- Ability to understand and apply applicable rule, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively.

- Ability to operate a personal computer and standard software packages.
