Staff Android Engineer, Pick & Deliver

For our client, we are seeking a Staff Android Engineer, Pick & Deliver to join the team of a leader in the Consumer Technology space. This role will shape the technical direction for Android experiences that support retailers and shoppers across a fast-moving consumer technology environment. You will lead the design, build, and delivery of high-quality mobile solutions while balancing immediate operational needs with long-term platform evolution. The position calls for close partnership with product, design, and other cross-functional stakeholders to solve complex customer and business problems. You will also contribute technical leadership through architecture improvements, design discussions, and mentorship. Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available Compensation: $229,000 – $241,500 annually Responsibilities Lead the technical direction and execution of Android applications supporting retailers and shoppers. Design, build, test, and maintain high-quality Android apps using Kotlin and modern mobile technologies. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions for operational and customer needs. Own projects from discovery through delivery, balancing immediate priorities with long-term platform goals. Enhance app performance and reliability through architectural improvements and technical debt reduction. Provide technical leadership by facilitating design discussions and mentoring engineers. Contribute to the roadmap for new picking models and platform investments. Qualifications 7+ years of professional software engineering experience with a focus on Android applications. Proficient in Kotlin and modern Android development practices, including Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, and RxJava. Experience leading complex, cross-functional software projects from design to production. Strong expertise in designing maintainable Android architecture and improving application performance. Proven track record of collaborating effectively with product and design teams and external stakeholders. Excellent communication skills to articulate technical decisions and trade-offs clearly.
