Staff AI Development Engineer

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a Staff AI Development Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Healthcare space. This role will help shape and accelerate the organization’s AI transformation by building scalable, production-ready capabilities across core product platforms. The engineer will work closely with product, platform, and engineering teams to design agentic AI solutions that improve user experiences and enable reusable capabilities at scale. This position also plays a key role in technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentoring as the team advances modern AI development practices.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Responsibilities

• Drive AI transformation across product platforms by designing and building new capabilities
• Develop and maintain scalable AI applications using full-stack technologies
• Collaborate with engineering teams on agent orchestration and service deployment
• Identify and mitigate risks throughout the software development lifecycle
• Lead architecture and design reviews while mentoring engineers and strengthening technical skillsets
• Build reusable platform capabilities that can be leveraged across multiple teams

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with proven full-stack application ownership
• Experience with agentic AI applications, particularly LLM and agent-based solutions in real-world settings
• Hands-on expertise in LangGraph and advanced agent orchestration techniques
• Proficiency in Python and Java, especially in backend development and API creation
• Experience designing AI-powered user experiences such as Conversational AI and generative UI applications
• Demonstrated technical leadership and mentorship in software architecture and complex problem-solving

Pay

Compensation: $118,450 – $236,900 annually
