About the Role
The Staff Accountant I position provides accounting, reporting, analytical, and internal control support for Old National Bank and its affiliates. This role serves as a key contributor to the integrity and accuracy of the Bank's financial records and reporting processes. The position will work with all areas of the bank, including Accounting, Finance, Financial Reporting, Treasury, Financial Analysis, Tax, Wealth, Loan, and Deposit Operations.
Responsibilities
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing process
- Complete account reconciliations and ensure stale outstanding items are cleared timely
- Ensure reconciling items have proper supporting documentation
- Review daily bank activity and propose adjusting entries as needed
- Complete account analysis on accounts/tasks
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance accounting processes
- Fulfill ad-hoc reporting requests from other departments and managers
- Fulfill periodic reporting/data requests for other departments and auditors
- Assist with the compliance and documentation of SOX controls
- Maintain procedures and internal controls related to responsibilities
- Support internal and external audit requests

Requirements
- 2-4 years accounting experience in banking or related industry
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (for recent graduates with no experience in accounting)
- Ability to clearly communicate (verbal and written) accounting issues to management, auditors, and other staff
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities/projects under tight timeframes

Pay
The salary range for this position is $44,700/yr - $84,500/yr plus bonus. The base salary reflects the compensation range applicable to all levels of the role across the United States. Actual salary offers within this range may vary based on factors including specific responsibilities, relevant skills, professional experience, educational qualifications, and geographic location.
