Staff Accountant - Financial Data Analyst

About the role

We are seeking a meticulous, data-driven Financial Data Analyst who is passionate about transforming financial data into actionable business insights. Working within our accounting department, this individual will collect, analyze, and interpret financial information to support strategic decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates effectively with other departments to gather data and deliver financial insights
• Demonstrates strong proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, MDX)
• Maintains strict confidentiality and adheres to internal controls
• Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Bridges analytical and problem-solving skills to every task
• Exhibits strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
• Collects and analyzes financial data from a variety of sources to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies
• Develops and maintains financial models that support forecasting, budgeting, and financial planning
• Prepares detailed reports and presentations that clearly communicate findings to management
• Maintains financial performance by tracking key metrics and analyzing variances
• Assists in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Conducts ad-hoc analysis and provides recommendations to strengthen financial performance
• Responds to submitted tickets in a timely manner
• Ensures data accuracy and integrity through regular data audits and validations
• Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be able to work scheduled hours, as well as overtime on short notice, as required
• Must be able to remain composed in high-pressure or emotionally charged situations
• Works well within a team to accomplish shared goals
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Informatics, or a related field
• Experience: 3–5 years of experience with financial software and ERP systems (e.g., Spectrum, Prophix)
• Prior experience as a Financial Data Analyst or in a similar role is preferred
