Senior Accountant Location: Monticello, IN Salary: $80,000-$85,000 base salary + bonus Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Monticello, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have 7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or production environment. This role will be responsible for financial reporting, general ledger management, cost accounting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and audit support. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented accounting professional with strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of GAAP and internal controls, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and support month-end and year-end close processes.Maintain general ledger accuracy, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and proper account coding.Perform cost accounting activities, including production cost tracking, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.Manage and support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, aging, collections, and vendor compliance.Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and departmental expense analysis.Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and supporting materials.Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies.Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.Partner with operations, procurement, HR, and leadership to provide financial analysis and support business decision-making.Assist with additional accounting and financial analysis projects as needed. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.7-10+ years of progressive accounting experience.Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment preferred.Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and cost accounting principles.Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP, NetSuite, or similar platforms.Advanced Excel skills and strong data analysis capabilities.Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy under deadlines.Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential financial information. Preferred Qualifications Experience in polymer, chemical, pharmaceutical, medical, electronic, or industrial manufacturing.Knowledge of inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing production workflows.Familiarity with Lean, continuous improvement, or process optimization methodologies.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across departments.Demonstrated leadership potential with the ability and interest to progress into broader financial leadership responsibilities.Experience supporting or mentoring junior accounting staff is a plus.
