Staff Accountant

About the Opportunity
The Staff Accountant role is essential for supporting day-to-day accounting activities and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This position contributes to the organization by managing transaction recording, account reconciliations, accounts payable processing, and supporting month-end close processes. The role also assists with audit preparation and compliance, helping maintain reliable financial information critical to the organization's operations.
Responsibilities
- Record, verify, and maintain accounting transactions.
- Prepare and post journal entries for monthly close.
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet and general ledger accounts monthly.
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies.
- Process vendor invoices, obtain approvals, and prepare payments.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and documentation.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities.
- Prepare supporting schedules and account analyses.
- Assist with financial reporting and management requests.
- Prepare documentation for internal and external audits.
- Support interim and annual audit activities.
- Ensure compliance with policies, internal controls, and U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain complete and accurate accounting records.
- Participate in ad hoc accounting and finance projects.
- Cross-train and provide backup support within the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Previous accounting experience.
- Experience with Sage Intacct.
- Understanding of GAAP and accounting processes.
- Experience with ERP and accounting software; familiarity with tools such as Ramp or HubSpot is a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Pay
The anticipated base salary range for this role is $75,000–$90,000 USD annually.
