Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies or errors.
- Report daily cash position, including cash receipts and upcoming cash outlays to anticipate potential shortfalls.
- Assist with Accounts Payable tasks, such as issuing purchase orders for overhead items.
- Support the Service Accounting Manager with service cost adjustments.
- Assist the Senior Accounting Manager with service revenue recognition and accounting.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting for fixed assets, inventory, and other assets, processing adjustments as needed.
- Prepare general ledger reconciliations, journal entries, adjustments, expense allocation entries, and other month-end/year-end closing activities.
- Assist in preparation of monthly and annual financial statements.
- Support the Senior Accounting Manager with VIE monthly bookkeeping.
- Assist with tasks related to the reimplementation of Vista.
- Support the annual external financial audit, including preparation and responding to auditor requests.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and financial controls.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather information and resolve outstanding items.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, changes in accounting standards, and best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to the accounting team, promoting professional growth and development.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar field of study (preferred).
- 1-2 years of Public Accounting experience or equivalent (preferred).
- General Ledger Accounting experience, including general journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Construction Accounting experience (preferred).
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
- Experience with financial software and ERP systems; Viewpoint Vista and QuickBooks (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize duties.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize tasks.
- Continuous improvement mindset with the ability to identify and implement process enhancements.
Physical Demands
- Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching above/below shoulder level.
- Handling/grasping documents or office equipment.
- Clear speaking and adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and by telephone.
- Vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data.
- Repetitive motions for computer equipment use.
- Occasionally lift 25 lbs., frequently lift/carry/move 5-10 lbs. (objects, files, and documents).
- Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
