Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Revenue Staff Accountant to join our Finance/Accounting team, reporting to the Revenue Accounting Manager. This role focuses on revenue recognition, analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly revenue journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Analyze and verify financial information to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of revenue recognition policies in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards.
• Review customer contracts and identify revenue-related issues.
• Collaborate with the sales and legal departments to ensure that revenue-related terms in contracts are compliant with accounting policies.
• Support the month-end and year-end close processes by providing timely and accurate financial information.
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports, highlighting revenue streams and trends.
• Participate in the development and implementation of internal controls related to revenue.
• Support external and internal audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations related to revenue accounts.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting regulations, industry trends, and best practices in revenue accounting.
• Work on special projects and analyses as requested by management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CPA candidate is preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on revenue recognition.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles, specifically ASC 606.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Onsite in Marlborough office 4x/week.

Pay

The annualized base salary range for this role is $53,800 to $84,300 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs, and market demand.
