Staff Accoountant

Description

Robinson, Farmer, Cox (RFC) is seeking a Staff Accountant based in Charlottesville, VA. The position offers a salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.

About the Role

RFC, founded in 1953, is a Firm of Certified Public Accountants providing tax preparation and consultation, financial statement audits, and consulting services across six offices in Virginia. RFC serves governments, individuals, businesses, and non-profit entities.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
• Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses.
• Performs various tests of assets, liabilities, revenues, expenditures, and others accounts.
• Prepares spreadsheets relevant to audit assignments.
• Develops “management letter” comments.
• Prepares audit adjusting entries.
• Communicates with clients concerning audit matters after consultation with supervisor.
• Prepares federal and state tax returns for review.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by a supervisor.

Requirements

• Must have a degree in accounting.
• Understanding of detailed concepts of commercial and governmental accounting.
• Ability to analyze data quickly from a variety of sources.
• Ability to organize and schedule tasks to completion.
• Ability to verbally communicate ideas in both small and large group settings.
• Ability to gain and maintain confidence of clients.
• Understanding of operations of local governments.
• Familiarity with a wide variety of PC based software including WP, spreadsheet, and database.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.

Schedule
