The Business Manager works as a member of the leadership team for the Division of Surgery, Anaesthetics and Trauma Services, bringing data, reporting and related insights to the decision-making process on performance and service matters for the Division. This position requires exceptional attention to detail and an investigative nature; providing high-quality information, recommendations and business support to the divisional management team of the designated portfolio area to support efficient and effective management of resources and budgets, assist the facilities to meet their strategic objectives and operational targets. The incumbent will be required to coach and support managers and be motivated to assist in the achievement of SESLHD's strategic objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality information, recommendations and business support to the divisional management team.
  • Support efficient and effective management of resources and budgets.
  • Assist facilities to meet strategic objectives and operational targets.
  • Coach and support managers to achieve SESLHD's strategic objectives.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently in a high-volume work environment.
  • Identify opportunities and implement change with a continuous improvement approach.
  • Communicate and present effectively to coach executive-level and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Health Management or a related discipline, or a combination of study and work experience.
  • Previous experience with budgeting and demonstrated experience in planning and evaluation at strategic and service levels.
  • Demonstrated relationship-building skills, including influencing internal and external stakeholders to support strategically and operationally effective decision-making.
  • High-level analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to provide sound advice and recommendations across a range of clinical services.
  • Experience managing multiple projects concurrently with varying timeframes and workloads in a high-volume work environment.
  • Experience in a rapidly changing environment with a continuous improvement approach to identify opportunities and implement change.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Pay

$137,525 - $156,231 per annum plus superannuation.

Schedule

38 hours per week.
