About the role
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering holistic, person-centred care as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) in the Obstetrics, Neonatology and Paediatric Service. They will provide advanced psychosocial assessment and intervention for patients and families who are pregnant, supporting complex discharge planning and case management for safety and risk assessments and grief and bereavement care during pregnancy. They will collaborate closely with medical, nursing, allied health, pastoral care and other external stakeholder teams (Police, DCJ, Child, Youth and Family teams) to ensure integrated care delivery and safety planning.
Responsibilities
- Provide advanced psychosocial assessment and intervention for patients and families who are pregnant.
- Safeguard and manage risk assessments and grief and bereavement care during pregnancy.
- Collaborate with medical, nursing, allied health, pastoral care and other external stakeholder teams (Police, DCJ, Child, Youth and Family teams).
- Offer clinical supervision and mentoring to junior social work staff and students.
Requirements
- Previous experience working in Women’s and Children’s medicine or Paediatrics is desirable.
- Working as a clinical social worker for at least 5 years to be considered eligible to apply.
Qualifications
- Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership of the AASW.
- Extensive post graduate clinical experience in relevant specialty area with a demonstrated commitment to ongoing clinical and professional learning.

- Advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgement when dealing with situations of a novel, complex or critical nature.

- Plan and prioritise your own and team work requirements effectively within agreed time frames.

Pay
$116,892 - $120,680 per annum plus Superannuation.
Schedule
38 hours per week.
