About the role

The Registered Midwife coordinates and delivers high quality midwifery care to patients/clients of the St George Hospital and Health service consistent with SESLHD and St George Hospital policies, procedures and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and delivers high quality midwifery care to patients/clients of the St George Hospital and Health service consistent with SESLHD and St George Hospital policies, procedures and standards.
  • Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team and applies professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Engages with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and guide others in providing service excellence.
  • Uses basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Applies detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Midwife in applying these principles.
  • Has extensive post registration antenatal experience in an acute care setting.

Requirements

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Midwife in applying these principles.

Qualifications

  • Current registration as a Registered Midwife with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia.

Pay

$41.23 - $57.88 per hour plus Superannuation.

Schedule

38 hours per week.
