Key Responsibilities
- Architecture Leadership & Strategic Vision
- Define and own the architecture for one or more critical SSD domains (e.g., PCIe/NVMe, memory controller, CPU complex), establishing a clear long-term architectural vision aligned to product and business roadmaps.
- Lead development of architecture specifications, including system flows, hardware/software partitioning, and performance optimization strategies, demonstrating strong strategic thinking and technical depth.
- Drive complex architectural trade-off decisions balancing performance, power, cost, scalability, and time-to-market, applying sound engineering judgment and data-driven decision-making.
- End-to-End Product Ownership & Technical Execution
- Provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle—from concept through implementation, validation, and product bring-up—ensuring alignment between architecture and execution.
- Influence ASIC and firmware architecture specifications, design reviews, and validation coverage through rigorous technical reviews and constructive challenge, demonstrating accountability and high standards of excellence.
- Cross-Functional Leadership & Influence
- Partner closely with controller, firmware, hardware, and validation engineering teams to translate architectural intent into successful execution, demonstrating strong collaboration and stakeholder alignment.
- Influence and guide cross-functional teams through complex technical challenges, exercising leadership through influence without direct authority.
- Communicate architectural direction, trade-offs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and executive audiences, demonstrating strong communication and executive presence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline. 5+ years of experience in embedded systems architecture and design, with hands-on contributions to ASIC and/or firmware development.
- PREFERRED: Master’s degree (MS) or higher in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Deep expertise in one or more SSD architecture domains (e.g., PCIe/NVMe, memory controller, CPU complex).
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage system architecture, including performance optimization, scalability, and reliability considerations.
- Proven experience driving hardware/software partitioning decisions and system-level architectural trade-offs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and influence cross-functional teams at scale.
- Experience in performance modeling, characterization, and QoS optimization for data center storage solutions.
