Schedule: 1st Shift Monday–Friday (with potential Saturday overtime, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM)
About the role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Warehouse Equipment Operator to support warehouse and logistics operations while serving as a mentor and trainer for new hires.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, reach trucks, cherry pickers, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Train, coach, and assist new hires on warehouse procedures, equipment operation, safety protocols, and productivity standards.
- Lead by example and promote a strong safety culture throughout the warehouse.
- Perform receiving, storage, inventory movement, replenishment, order picking, and shipping activities.
- Load and unload trailers safely and efficiently.
- Verify quantities, product information, destinations, and shipment details using source documents and warehouse management systems.
- Assist with inventory control and cycle count activities.
- Operate weighing, banding, wrapping, and packaging equipment as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and warehouse safety procedures.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment issues and assist with routine equipment inspections.
- Support warehouse leadership with daily operational priorities and special projects.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to inventory and material movement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of warehouse and logistics experience.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating forklifts, reach trucks, and cherry pickers.
- Experience training, mentoring, or onboarding new warehouse associates.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Ability to read, interpret, and complete warehouse documentation accurately.
- Basic mathematical and computer skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and RF scanners.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Distribution center or high-volume logistics experience.
Physical Requirements
- Requires frequent walking, carrying, reaching, standing, and stooping.
- Requires lifting/lowering, pushing, or pulling of various items of varying weight.
- Requires work from heights of up to 20 feet from floor.
- Requires work in an environment with frequently changing temperatures.
