Major Duties

  • Sells investment management, advisory, and asset servicing services to the institutional market.
  • Identifies prospective clients through business networks and internal contacts.
  • Contacts potential clients to raise brand awareness and secure leads.
  • Responds to Request for Proposals (RFPs) and coordinates presentations with internal professionals.
  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of relevant market issues to position oneself as a technical expert.
  • Attends industry-related conferences and participates in speaking engagements.
  • Identifies and pursues opportunities to cross-sell additional services and products to the target market.
  • Works closely with local management to enhance client retention.
  • Assumes responsibility for complex and sensitive client activities as directed by the manager.
  • Researches prospects' financial situations to tailor service offerings.
  • Develops relationships with prospects and schedules meetings to advance the sales process.
  • Presents bank product materials to potential clients or their designees.
  • Stays informed about applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations to ensure compliance with financial planning activities.

Knowledge

  • A thorough understanding of investment, custody, and consulting products used by foundations, institutions, endowments, and nonprofit organizations.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • A sound understanding of the market segment's considerations in selecting and utilizing a professional money manager and custodian.
  • Knowledge of philanthropic and planned giving strategies is helpful.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations acquired through formal education and work experience.
  • An analytical and sales mindset to relate individual customer asset situations to specific products.
  • Interactive skills to comprehend prospect needs and provide appropriate solutions.

Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in an institutional sales or related role.
  • In-depth knowledge of the target market and the assigned territory.
  • Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA), Series 7, and Series 63 licenses.
