About the role
At DLC, the Senior Voice Engineer will help shape the next generation of collaboration in a dynamic, creative environment closely aligned with strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate will have proven technical leadership experience and a track record of engineering and implementing highly available voice solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategy to support an evolving voice infrastructure, including but not limited to:
- Cisco CUCM and all associated components (e.g., CER, IM&P, CUC)
- Cisco Jabber, Expressway MRA
- 3rd Party Application integration (e.g., Verint Call Recording, MS Teams)
- VMWare, vSphere, vCenter
- Centralized SIP Trunking - CUBE or Oracle SBCs
- Analog Gateways
- Google Cloud Platform
- Review, understand, and help define future strategy; build solutions to support the vision.
- Provide vendor-agnostic recommendations, emphasizing solutions best for the company.
- Propose and implement system enhancements (software and hardware updates) to improve performance and reliability.
- Play a key role in implementing new technologies and transitioning them to operations for successful support and maintenance.
- Identify and document solution and process gaps to advance voice strategy and architecture design.
- Develop, document, and maintain standards within the collaboration space.
- Handle problem escalations, customer notifications, and address customer needs with strong problem-solving and analytic skills.
- Work autonomously and collaborate with internal DLC technology departments and vendors.
- May require infrequent travel based on business need.
- Provide on-call support independently.
Requirements
- Minimum of five (5) years of Cisco VoIP engineering experience in a large enterprise environment.
- In-depth understanding and hands-on experience with Unified Communications infrastructure, hardware, and software, including:
- Cisco Call Manager software
- Infrastructure configuration
- All subcomponents of a collaboration solution
- Excellent problem-solving and analytic skills.
- Strong balance of technical expertise, customer-facing skills, and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and independently.
Qualifications
- BA in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Engineering, or other similar technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum CCNP-Collaboration, CCIE-Collaboration, or equivalent experience.
- General understanding of network design, engineering, security, and firewalls.
- Scripting/programming experience is a plus.
- Experience in the Financial Services industry is a plus.
