Sr. UNIX Systems Engineer

About the role

CGI Federal is seeking a Senior UNIX System Engineer to support a program for the Army's PL ALTESS contract. The position is based in Radford, VA.

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot and support servers for a mixed customer environment.
• Plan, execute and implement new system hardware and software.
• Create and maintain team technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies.
• Maintain and monitor system performance, harden servers, and report security and operational status.
• Recommend improvements to the enterprise and manage new software/hardware integrations.
• Provide support for the lifecycle of a mixed environment of vendor equipment, including firmware version control and periodic preventive maintenance.
• Implement technologies to expand, upgrade, and increase efficiency in the current environment.

Requirements

• CompTIA Security+
• Experience in Computer Science or IT
• Active DOD Secret Security Clearance
• Five or more years' experience as a Unix Systems Administrator or IT Engineer
• Three or more years' experience in patch management
• Three or more years' experience in complex network management
• Three or more years' experience managing local user accounts
• Three or more years' experience with standard operating procedures
• Three or more years' experience with key services such as DNS, SFTP, SMTP, and NTP
• Strong interpersonal and team skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent years of experience
• Three or more years' experience with SELinux
• Experience with Cybersecurity patch management and STIG, SRG, RMF, SCA-V, CORA
• Experience with large-scale hardware and software system enhancements
• Experience with current and emerging network and infrastructure management technologies

$113,400.00 - $198,400.00
