Responsibilities
- Aids management in resolving unique or unexpected issues during detainee transport.
- Develops solutions for such issues.
- Reviews all vehicle inspection reports and develops summaries for Transportation Management.
- Suggests solutions as needed based on report findings.
- Ensures all vehicle permits and licenses are up-to-date.
- Notifies Transportation Management of potential problems before assignments.
- Monitors and logs Department of Transportation Hours of Service (HOS) using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Assists with interviewing and screening of new Transport Officers.
- Ensures all necessary paperwork and reports are reviewed accurately and submitted on time.
- Maintains compliance with PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures during detainee transport.
- Performs other duties as directed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- At least 21 years old.
- At least six months of experience as a law enforcement officer, military police officer, or security officer.
- One year of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
- Valid driver’s license and a valid ‘Class B’ or ‘Class C’ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement.
- No preventable accidents, suspensions for driving convictions, DWI/DUI incidents, or more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- State Firearms License (based on state requirements).
- State Security Guard License (based on state requirements).
Qualifications
- Completion of an approved training program resulting in certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
- Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
