Responsibilities
- Aids management in developing solutions for unique or unexpected problems during detainee transport.
- Reviews and summarizes vehicle inspection reports, noting commonalities and suggesting solutions.
- Safeguards all assigned vehicles by ensuring they have necessary safety equipment and proper permits/licenses.
- Notifies management of potential issues before trips begin and accurately tracks hours of service using Electronic Logging Devices (ELDs).
- Assists with interviewing and screening new Transport Officers, reviewing paperwork, and ensuring timely report submission.
- Maintains compliance with PBNDS/FBNDS safety measures during detainee transport missions.
- Performs other duties as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification.
- At least 21 years old.
- At least six months of experience as a law enforcement officer, military police officer, or security officer handling detainee-related duties.
- One year of driving experience in a transportation capacity.
- Valid Driver’s License and a valid ‘Class B’ or ‘Class C’ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement within six months of appointment.
- No preventable accidents, suspensions for driving convictions, DWI/DUI incidents, or more than two moving violations in the past three years.
- State Firearms License (based on state requirements).
- State Security Guard License (based on state requirements).
Qualifications
- Demonstrated leadership experience.
- Completion of an approved training program resulting in certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military preferred.
- Preferred Certification in Corrections, Law Enforcement, or Military.
