Sr Transmission Line Engineer

Responsibilities

• Works under the direction of Principal Engineers and Engineering Managers.
• Independently evaluates, selects, and applies engineering principles and practices relevant to the project requirements.
• Defines project objectives, prepares design estimates, and defines project requirements and design approaches for large or complex projects.
• Acts as Lead Engineer on single discipline projects or smaller multi-discipline projects, responsible for determining design approach and working with design team to prepare required design documents.
• Manages personal task assignments, and for designated projects, manages assignments of other design team members to ensure adherence to scope, schedule and budget.
• Directs project design teams comprised of engineers, designers, and technicians on a single project.
• Makes sure project execution milestones and schedules are met to ensure projects are completed on time.
• Performs technical and coordination checking/review of deliverables and other project documents.
• Ensures deliverables comply with Business Unit procedures and meet applicable design requirements.
• Follows up on construction issues with design staff to resolve problems and concerns in a timely manner.
• Identifies conflicting design or schedule requirements and generates Project Deviation Notices in a timely fashion.
• Makes project level decisions on assigned projects.

Qualifications

• Senior level engineering position requiring a four-year technical degree in engineering with a minimum of 8 years progressively responsible experience.
• Professional registration is desirable for this position.
• Willingness to develop, promote, and comply with Mesa safety requirements.
• Working knowledge of computers and software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office Suite, and software used for specific technical applications within the department.
