Sr. Test Engineer

Our client is seeking a Sr. Test Engineer to join their team in Long Beach, CA. As a Sr. Test Engineer, you will be part of the test department supporting qualification and acceptance testing of spacecraft propellant and pressurant tanks. From the first day, you’ll own complex pressure and structural testing work—designing and executing tests, building sophisticated setups, troubleshooting issues, and translating results into clear reports that engineering and program teams can trust. Job Title:Sr. Test Engineer Location:Long Beach, CA 90808 Pay Range:$110000 - $140000 What's the Job? Support qualification and acceptance testing including hydrostatic proof pressure, helium leak, static load, expulsion and flow, pressure differential, vacuum, vibration, and thermal testing. Develop test procedures and contribute to test and fixturing design for new development and qualification programs. Provide hands-on technical support to test technicians and vendor support as needed, ensuring tests are executed correctly and safely. Review, analyze, and accept test data by assessing acceptability to requirements, in-family performance, and abnormalities; generate clear plots and charts. Serve as a technical liaison to program management and customers as required, and lead continuous improvement efforts within the test department. What's Needed? Experience in pressure/structural test engineering, including hydraulic pressure systems and pneumatic pressure systems, with strong pressure testing and structural testing background. Ability to design and execute complex tests, including building and configuring sophisticated test setups that may require hours or days to prepare. Strong understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing); CAD experience is required, with Creo preferred. Proven troubleshooting and end-to-end ownership of test execution—from setup through results review and reporting. Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program teams; strong communication skills to interface confidently with customers and program managers. What's in it for me?
