About the role
We are seeking a Senior Test Automation Engineer to support the Veterans Affairs (VA) Enterprise Testing Service Support Services (ETSSS) contract. This project provides Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) services to support the product Software Delivery Life Cycle and Modernization efforts for our VA government client. The role focuses on advancing test automation maturity by automating IV&V activities.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and create Eggplant automation test scripting, including interaction and synchronization with the client, other work streams/teams, and Oracle Health.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement automated test strategies.
- Create automated test assets (test scripts, schedules, and frameworks) using the Eggplant testing tool.
- Develop, maintain, and upgrade Eggplant test scripts and architectures for application products.
- Understand project architecture, test environment, and test data needs.
- Conduct thorough testing of the product, including positive, negative, validation, and regression testing.
- Analyze and comprehend requirements.
- Identify and disposition defects according to standards and processes.
- Write detailed status reports, test execution reports, and test analysis reports.
- Design, implement, and conduct test and evaluation procedures to ensure health information technology system requirements are met.
- Serve as a subject matter specialist, providing testing expertise for complex software/hardware health IT applications.
- Work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting, promoting a cooperative environment with team members and customers.
- Define, organize, and present detailed information to accomplish organizational and testing goals.
- Actively participate in collaborative meetings with the VA EHRM customer, teammates, VA project teams, and other key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 3-5 years’ experience with clinical software testing and leading test efforts.
- 3-4 years’ experience as a test automation engineer, including experience with test management tools and test automation frameworks, specifically Eggplant.
- Knowledge of the Oracle Health Millennium healthcare domain.
- In-depth understanding of clinical workflows, policies, procedures, and patient care/clinical business processes.
- Broad and comprehensive experience in the software testing lifecycle, including writing detailed test plans, test cases, and test reports.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- U.S. Citizenship is required, along with successfully passing a thorough government background screening (including detailed forms and fingerprinting).

- Experience with OpenText Unified Functional Testing (a plus).
- Knowledge of risk-based testing methodologies.
