Job Description U.S. Bank is seeking a Senior Technology Architect with strategic analysis and enterprise-wide technology experience to contribute toward the success of our technology initiatives. Key Responsibilities Lead the architecture, design, and governance of enterprise payment, gateway, and digital transaction platforms.Develop scalable solution architectures supporting cloud modernization, API-first strategies, and distributed systems.Define architecture standards, technology roadmaps, reference architectures, and engineering best practices.Partner with business, product, security, and engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.Provide technical leadership for complex integrations across internal platforms, third-party vendors, fintech partners, and payment networks.Drive application resiliency, high availability, performance optimization, and operational excellence across critical systems.Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve scalability, automation, security, and customer experience.Mentor engineers and architects while influencing strategic technology decisions across multiple portfolios and initiatives. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experienceAt least 10 years experience with the concepts, philosophies and tools behind the design of applications, information and underlying information technologies.At least 10 years experience with developing and implementing applications. Preferred Skills/Experience Enterprise Architecture experience designing large-scale, mission-critical technology platforms.Strong expertise in Payments, Merchant Services, Payment Gateways, or high-volume transaction processing systems.Deep knowledge of Cloud Architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP), cloud-native design patterns, and container-based platforms.Experience designing and governing API, Microservices, and Event-Driven Architectures.Strong understanding of Security Architecture, authentication, authorization, encryption, and risk management principles.Expertise with System Integration, third-party vendor connectivity, and enterprise service platforms.Experience with High Availability, disaster recovery, observability, performance engineering, and reliability practices.Excellent Technical Leadership, stakeholder management, solution consulting, and architecture governance skills. Location expectations This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
