The Role

As the Technical Service Specialist, reporting to the Director - Technical Services, you will support the commercial and technical teams by applying foundational subject matter knowledge to customer needs, product performance questions, and application-related activities. You will assist with technical evaluations, laboratory and field support, product troubleshooting, and preparation of technical information that helps drive customer success and profitable growth. You will develop an understanding of assigned products, applications, and market requirements and uses that knowledge to support internal teams and customers with timely, practical, and data-based solutions.

How You Will Make An Impact

  • Support commercial and technical teams by providing product, application, and customer support for existing products and new opportunities
  • Aid with customer-related technical questions, product performance reviews, and application troubleshooting
  • Support test planning, sample preparation, laboratory coordination, and documentation of results for customer and internal projects
  • Translate technical findings into clear summaries, recommendations, and value statements for internal and external use
  • As part of the global cross-functional team, identify, qualify, and quantify (unmet) market or customer needs, convert those into R&D objectives, define related test methods, and ensure timely commercialization
  • Create quantified value propositions for the existing and new products
  • Prepare and maintain technical materials such as product information, presentations, test summaries, and training content to support customer and commercial activities
  • Follow and promote safe work practices in laboratory, plant, and customer environments while adhering to quality and compliance requirements
  • Build knowledge of relevant industry standards, customer processes, and regulatory considerations affecting assigned products and applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support customer trials, product launches, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate technical records, testing documentation, and product information to support effective knowledge sharing and business continuity

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant technical, laboratory, product support, or application experience in specialty chemicals, oilfield, or related industrial markets
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field
