We deliver experiences to consumers through Disney’s Parks & Resorts worldwide, Disney Cruise Lines, and Disney Vacation Club. We are responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology & digitally led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business, as well as other initiatives such as Hey, Disney!
As a Senior Technical Project Manager, you will identify, plan, and coordinate a set of related projects within a program and manage their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. You will apply project management principles and techniques to lead project schedule, scope, quality, cost, and performance risks. This role supports the Disney Consumer Products (DCP) portfolio (Branded Retail and Stores, Licensing, and Publishing) and reports to the Manager, Technical Project Management.
Responsibilities
- Drives execution and delivery of technical projects through the full delivery life cycle, ensuring projects are delivered timely and on-budget.
- Works with engineering teams, including Software Engineers, Product Managers, Architects, and leadership to establish processes across all program areas that ensure success on strategically prioritized projects and improve efficiency.
- Defines, optimizes, and manages Agile project management ceremonies and processes for large project teams.
- Maintains monthly forecast submissions, including adjustments to resource allocations, vendor payment schedules, and forecasts for partner teams.
- Conducts regular program status meetings with all partners, ensuring needs and requirements are met.
- Builds program reports and dashboards for program management, sponsors, and partners.
- Monitors and adjusts the program plan to respond to unplanned changes, ensuring the program progresses to meet business goals.
- Acts as a primary liaison among multiple teams, including Product Management, Design, Technology, vendors, and other key functional delivery teams.
- Leads project delivery by coordinating cross-functional dependencies, resolving blockers, and managing RAID to ensure milestones stay on track.
- Escalates key issues and risks to ensure timely resolution and mitigation.
- Ensures proper project closure, including lessons learned, transition and hand-off to production operations support, and final financial reporting.
- Owns Jira and Confluence administration, governance, and executive reporting, ensuring consistent Agile processes, traceability, and delivery visibility.
- Drives roadmap planning, dependency mapping, and infrastructure migration coordination using Advanced Roadmaps and aligned tracking artifacts.
- Supports cross-functional teams through training, coaching, and program-level coordination across Scrum teams and vendors.
- Supports Jira Cloud migration readiness, including cleanup, process alignment, and adoption support.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of technical project/program management experience working with technical teams developing enterprise-class solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience.
- Understanding of Cloud, APIs, services, database technologies, technologist roles and responsibilities, capabilities & platform dependencies, software development lifecycle, engineering, and/or product development.
- Strong influence and negotiation skills, communication, professional maturity, organizational savvy, relationship building, and dependency mapping.
- Extensive hands-on experience with practices such as Agile, Lean, Kanban, Waterfall, as well as pragmatic blending of styles to facilitate collaboration and delivery.
- Deep understanding of Agile technical practices, DevOps, and testing concepts (CI/CD, TDD).
- Significant experience in coaching and mentoring teams on project management practices, including Agile, Lean, Kanban, and Waterfall.
- Experience and knowledge of AI emerging technologies, nomenclature, and strategies.
- Excellent ability to understand architectural and technical aspects of a project.
- Experience managing large project budgets.
- Experience with tools such as Microsoft suite, Keynote, Smartsheet, MyPPM (Clarity), MyJira, Tableau, Claude, and PowerBI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
- Experience in supporting large-scale, global software development programs.
Pay
The hiring range for this position in Orlando is $123,100.00 - $145,000.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
