About the role

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain. We're seeking an experienced Sr. Technical Infrastructure Program Manager in Herndon, VA, Seattle, WA or Chicago, IL to oversee data center build projects.

Key job responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional and technical teams from conceptual design feasibility through scope and schedule creation, budget management, completed design, implementation, commissioning, and data center deployment.
  • Use judgment, critical thinking skills, ability to influence without authority, analytical talent, technical aptitude, and leadership to collaborate with a diverse set of stakeholders.
  • Eliminate non-value-add activities, design solutions, remove blockers, and find creative ways to accelerate project delivery.
  • Own and deliver on end-to-end builds.
  • Work with stakeholder teams to map dependencies, create and drive schedules, and think big to solve some of our biggest challenges.
  • Dive deep into critical path items.
  • Apply a variety of project management tools, methodologies and techniques for all phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Exhibit demonstrated experience in core project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, resources, quality and risk management, reporting and metric development/tracking.

Basic qualifications

  • 5+ years of program management or technical project management experience.
  • Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds.
  • Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (i.e. network, data center, hardware, software).

Preferred qualifications

  • Knowledge of data center infrastructure design, operations, or delivery.
  • Experience in project management in data centers or comparable critical infrastructure.

Pay and benefits

  • Base salary range: $148,700.00 - $201,200.00 USD annually (Herndon, VA and Seattle, WA).
