ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Affords assistance in the preparation and review of complex federal and state tax returns, related payments, work papers, and documentation.
- Identifies issues, exercises independent judgment, and provides insights through clear, concise review notes.
- Affords assistance in the preparation/review of workpapers for ASC 740 calculations, related disclosures for the federal, state, and local income tax area, including maintaining the inventory of deferred tax assets and liabilities.
- Affords assistance in the preparation/review of reporting for income taxes, including the quarterly US GAAP tax provision.
- Participates in the research, analysis, and documentation of tax planning initiatives.
- Remains current in legislative and tax policy initiatives that have a significant impact on the company.
- Identifies, analyzes, and researches tax law as applied to federal and state income/franchise tax returns filings and/or business transactions.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
- 2-4 years Progressive tax experience in a multi-state environment with emphasis on tax compliance and research.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in partnership taxation.
- Experience utilizing tax compliance software.
- Strong problem solving, analytics, and communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office – specifically with Excel.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience in the telecom industry and with Oracle is preferred.
