Sr Systems Engineer (Top Secret Required)

About the role

The Senior Systems Engineer is responsible for the maintenance, configuration, reliability, and engineering of systems supporting N-DEx data integration. The position manages computer systems, servers, virtualization, software upgrades, automated integration tools, web services, SFTP connections, ETL products, and vendor integration solutions. This is not a traditional infrastructure-only Systems Engineer position. The SOW requires a candidate with a substantial combination of systems engineering + software development + data integration + web services + cloud + SFTP/security expertise.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of: computer systems, network servers, virtualized environments
• Install and upgrade computer components and software
• Manage virtual servers
• Develop and integrate automation processes
• Diagnose hardware and software issues
• Document problems and resolutions
• Prioritize technical issues and assess operational impact
• Develop, maintain, and use automated tools supporting data-integration services
• Support and maintain web services and SFTP connections
• Develop and use ETL products and automated data-integration tools
• Recommend and implement data-integration standardization
• Maintain and upgrade existing integrations
• Develop new vendor integration solutions
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and assist agencies with: WSDL, Java KeyStore (JKS), security certificates, encryption, SOAP web services, RESTful web services

Skills

• Programming / Development: Java, Python, C#, PHP, JavaScript, API development, Java applications; ability to create and maintain data applications and tools supporting the data‑integration process
• Systems / Platform: Windows, Unix, Linux, virtualized systems, HTTPS web servers, Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP Server, Java Servlets, JSP, cloud and on‑premises environments
• Database: PostgreSQL, Linux SQL, SQLite, PL/SQL, T‑SQL, Oracle
• Data Integration / XML: XML, XSLT, XSD, DTD, data standards, validation tools, SFTP, APIs, transformation of multiple source formats into specified XML formats, law‑enforcement data, IEPD specifications
• Cloud: Hands‑on experience with FedRAMP‑compliant AWS and Microsoft Azure

Qualifications

Active Top Secret clearance required. Primary place of performance: FBI CJIS Division, Clarksburg, WV. Key Personnel position.
