About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Solid Rocket Motor Engineering Team. The ideal candidate will have experience applying the full systems engineering lifecycle, including analyzing and decomposing requirements, creating system design documentation, and generating, utilizing, and maintaining Cameo models. This position interfaces with internal and external project team members, company leadership, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation, and integration, and technical services and support.
  • Designs, implements, installs, maintains, and administers infrastructures including hardware, software, and various configurations.
  • Monitors overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately.
  • Performs root cause analysis on failed components and implements corrective measures.
  • Works with others to establish and improve processes and procedures.
  • Analyzing customer/stakeholder requirements, decomposing requirements, deriving requirements, and allocating requirements to system and subsystem elements in DOORs.
  • Developing and maintaining risk and opportunity databases.
  • Supporting trade studies and performing design research of engineering concepts and explorations to determine optimal requirements and system architecture.
  • Developing system/subsystem design documentation such as interface definitions, system schematics, and system description documents.
  • Developing and executing system verification.
  • Developing MBSE processes, procedures, templates, and best practices.
  • Developing, reviewing, and presenting Cameo models to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Leading or supporting system engineering technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
  • Assisting in preparation of proposals and presentation materials.
  • Performing peer reviews of fellow team members’ work.
  • Developing and reviewing test plans and reports.
  • Supporting the planning and execution of various kinds of testing including subsystem and system testing.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree and 5-7 years' experience (Engineering degree required).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Technical expertise, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
  • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.

Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $100,300–$135,700 (USD). Individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.

Hired applicants may be eligible to participate in the Company’s Gain Sharing Program.

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a 9/80 schedule. This position can be remote or located at our Huntsville, AL or Hampton, AR facility.
