About the role

The Systems Engineer is an experienced-level position responsible for the design of military powertrain solutions, including requirements definition and analysis, system architecture definition and assessment, subsystem specification, design reviews, subsystem acceptance, and system integration. This role also involves developing test plans, procedures, and conducting tests for new developments or reliability improvements. The system may consist of multiple subsystems, be part of a larger system, or enhance an existing system or subsystem.

Responsibilities

  • Guide product engineering in the design, development, and implementation of system architecture and solutions.
  • Allocate and derive requirements from vehicle, engine, and transmission system levels down to the component level.
  • Provide input to product specifications and develop design verification test plans to ensure comprehensive data capture for assessing requirements compliance.
  • Serve as the technical lead for cross-functional matrixed project teams (ME, EE, Software, etc.) through Systems Requirements Review to ensure engineering requirements are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and ensure system integration.
  • Conduct system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring to ensure optimal operations.
  • Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Author engineering technical reports for customer submission.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent technical BS degree with a minimum of 6 years of engineering experience.
  • Master’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent with a minimum of 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage and organize multiple project tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Must be capable of obtaining a DOD security clearance.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Availability for domestic and foreign travel (less than 10%).
  • Ability to move freely within manufacturing and lab environments with reasonable accommodation.

Skills

  • Experience in Reliability, Maintainability, and Safety to support the development, integration, and lifecycle management of new system designs (preferred).
  • Expert product knowledge of transmissions, engines, and powerpack integration into tracked vehicles (preferred).
  • Understanding of working with MBSE models in Dassault Cameo (preferred).
  • Experience in developing products for the defense industry (preferred).

This is a full-time, exempt position.
